How to Set your Quarter Grade Calculations
PowerTeacher Pro provides the option for the district to push down grade calculations for the entire district to each class. Therefore, the district will set up F1 and S1 grading terms for all classes. Teachers are only responsible for setting up their quarter grade calculations.
Click on the Settings charm. Then choose Traditional Grade Calculations.
Click the pencil on the right for the term you want to edit.
You have two grading options; Total Points or Category Weighting. SCS does not currently support Standards Weighting in PowerTeacher Pro.
If you choose total points, you can select that option and be finished.
if you choose Category Weighting, you will have to set up each category you plan to use for the quarter and the weight of each of those categories.
Click the + button at the top right of the table to add additional categories.
For Type, choose Category Weighting for each.
For Attribute, choose a category and set the weight for the category (Note: the percents will change as you adjust the weights. For ease, you can set the weight as the percent and the percent will equal, as long as the total is 100%.
If you plan to grade some or all of your courses in the same way, you can set up one class and copy that class’ setup to the other classes.
Click on the gear icon to copy. Click on Copy Traditional Grade Calculations.
You can copy from one quarter to another quarter(s) within the same class by choosing Within A Class at the top.
You can copy an entire class setup to another class or classes by choosing To Another Class at the top.
First, select the class where you are copying from. You will have to enter the term and the class you are going to be copying.
Once you have selected that class, you will see the section for where you want to copy the grade calculations to. You will enter the term and check all the classes you want to copy to in the list. Then click Validate.
